the good old 70′s and the best of the 80′s… pamasahe sa jeep na inabot ko nun ay 25 centimos lang. 1975 ng lumipat kami sa Mandaluyong. magla-lakad papasok sa iskuwela sa ILES. Makikipaglaro sa mga kaibigan ng patintero, taguan, luksong baka, jolen, tex, sumpit, tumbang preso at kung anu-ano habulan. Panahon ng Voltes V, Star Rangers, Daimos, Mazinger Z, Sesame Street, Electric Company, Balatak, Student Canteen, Champoy, Going Bananas, Dance Fever, mga pelikula tulad ng tokwat baboy ni chiquito at bomber moran, si Tony Ferrer sa mga Secret Agent na roles, Sampaguita, Aegis, Florante, Freddie Aguilar, Game and Watch, Tetris, BMX bikes, Tetron, Espadril, Sperry, Hang ten T’s, Crispa T’s, Mountain Dew, At ang pag sikat ng mga New Wave Music, Break Dancing, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Cindy Lauper, Spandau Ballet, Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, B-52′s, Punk Rock Music, Air Supply, Barry Manilow, Eagles, Metalica, atbp. Sobrang dami po talaga…. walang batid sa saya, kasimplehan, sarap balikan.

naalala ko rin ang “PINYALAP” ng marca pinya soy sauce…. at ang LIWAYWAY gawgaw ang gamitin at ang walang kamatayang komersyal ng MERCURY DRUG…” gamot ay laging bago “dyan mo rin makikita laluna sa mga kalendaryong pinamimigay nila ang ilang larawan ng OLD PHILIPPINES… MABUHAY PILIPINAS!!!!

:-)) I agree, I grew up playing patintero, touch-ball, tumbang preso, taguan, and other popular Filipino street games for kids. Life was really simpler and pagers were the precursor of the popular cellphones that we have now. I could remember some of these commercials especially the one from San Miguel where my dad spend 27 years as a loyal employee. Paborito ko pang snack noon habang nakikipag-kwentuhan sa kalaro ay Chippy, Chiz Curls, dirty ice cream o kaya naman scramble na pwedeng samahan ng Iced Gems na biskwit! Minsan, uupo lang kami ng mga kaibigan ko sa gilid ng kalsada sa loob ng subdivision at mag-uusap tungkol sa mga pangarap namin habang may maririnig kang naglalako at sumisigaw ng “puto!” o kaya “binatoooggg!” If we’re not playing games, minsan bahay lang at manonood ng “Lucio at Miguel” nina Panchito at Dolphy at usually – 1-2pm ng hapon yun :) Iba tlaga ang panahon noon, di ramadam ang kahirapan at ang mga tao noon ay mas may malasakit kaysa ngayon. (opinion ko lang po) :)
